Portland Thorns will be prepared for Western New York’s Abby Wambach

The Portland Thorns have already faced some exceptional opposing forwards this season, but none has been quite as dangerous as Abby Wambach.

The U.S. women’s national team forward and 2012 FIFA world player of the year is expected to make her first appearance of the NWSL season Saturday when the Thorns travel to Rochester, N.Y., to take on Wambach’s Western New York Flash.
