Abby Wambach discusses her marriage, sport and future

No Olympics. No World Cup. Yet 2013 was one of the most memorable years in Abby Wambach’s life.

Not only did the 33-year-old United States soccer star break a record she’d been chasing for more than a decade — Mia Hamm’s all-time mark for goals — but she built a home in Portland, Ore., and got married last fall. Wambach and longtime partner Sarah Huffman wed in an Oct. 5 ceremony in Hawaii.
